This past weekend, Eleven Bikes UK had the honour of participating in one of the most exciting events on London’s cycling calendar: the VIA Criterium, part of the vibrant London Cycle Festival held at King’s Cross Station.
From Friday, June 20, to Sunday, June 22, thousands of cycling enthusiasts came together to celebrate cycling culture with races, community activities, and an electric atmosphere. Among all the excitement, our brand proudly joined the Cargo Bike Race—a competition as challenging as it was fun, specifically designed for cargo bikes like ours: the Riese & Müller Load75.
The race took place on an 850-metre circuit weaving through Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard. It’s a fast, technical route that demands sharp focus and quick reflexes at every turn. Each lap featured six corners: a long, sweeping left, one 90° right, three 90° left-hand turns, and a ramp that put every rider’s agility to the test.
The highlight of the course was undoubtedly “The Drop” — a wooden ramp that plunges riders into the two-tiered Coal Drops Yard “amphitheatre”, where the start/finish line was located.
An unforgettable experience
Although we didn’t take the podium this time, the experience was incredible. We raced alongside top cargo bike riders, felt the support of a vibrant crowd, and enjoyed every second of the course. It was a day filled with camaraderie, adrenaline, and learning.
Without a doubt, this event has left us feeling inspired and more motivated than ever to come back next year, stronger and faster! We’re grateful to everyone who supported us, and especially to the VIA Riders team for creating a space where adrenaline, sport and community come together in a one-of-a-kind cycling celebration.
